Neuromuscular Therapy (Deep Tissue):
The style of NMT that I do is very effective and therapeutic. It is soft tissue manipulation, which means that the method involves the application of pressure that changes the soft tissues of the body. It releases muscle adhesions (knots!) and restrictions in movement. I will have the client engage the muscle, that we are working on, one that has some muscle tightness, and will basically have the client contract the muscle, and then release, and they will do this a few times until the muscle feels like it is releasing. The Neuromuscular style that I use, is called Body Insight, that I learned at The Healing Arts Institute. Keeping muscles healthy and free of restriction, facilitates movement, and encourages the body to stay in harmony and balance.

Swedish Massage/Relaxation Massage:
This style of massage is also therapeutic. It has longer strokes with not as much specific work as the NMT. I can incorporate the NMT with a relaxation massage, and vice versa. Even with a relaxation massage, I tend to still work out the tight spots if you have a couple of troubled areas you want me to focus on, with a full body massage. I still have a style of deep tissue with my relaxation massages, if that is what you like.

Sports Massage:
Sports massage is designed to help atheletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training.

But you don't have to be an athlete to benefit from a sports massage. Sports massage is also good for people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion.
